Hi, My name's JQ. The JQ stands for Jacquelyn, but I don't like Jacquelyn, I just like the J and the Q and that's it.

 

Growing up, I was an avid reader (especially of the Junie B. Jones series, if you couldn't tell) and my hobby of reading soon transformed into a fascination for words and writing. Instead of taking diligent notes in my math classes, I would doodle little stories in the margins. It soon became apparent to my mother that my love to create something out of nothing would be the driving force in my life.

Upon going to the University of Texas at Arlington, I decided to major in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing. Along the way, I obtained an Emerging Media Certificate as well to challenge myself to foreign concepts like coding and broadcasting.

 

During my time at UTA, I was fortunate to get involved on campus, and complete internships with The Odyssey, the Movin' Mavs, ANKR Agency, and Agency Entourage. During these internships, I was hands-on in the creative process, created and ran my own ads, had face-time with clients, and even drew up and presented a year-long business proposal. 

 

This was also when I began my work as a Production Assistant and Stylist. What began as an extended interview for Agency Entourage soon became my newest passion. A set keeps you on your toes, employs creative problem solving, and forces you to look at situations in new ways. I get to help bring other's creative vision to life while employing my own creativity. I continued to invest more time into this passion and interned with Spreetail as a Photo Studio Intern. After freelancing with Kaylah Key Productions, I stepped out of my comfort zone (and zip code) and worked with Cavender's as their Creative Production Coordinator. With Cavender's, I've worked on local ranches, in the deserts of Las Vegas, and a humble studio in Tyler, Texas.

When I'm not diving into my work, I'm diving into any adventure life has to offer. I love hiking, trying new recipes, and tirelessly re-watching The Office. You can typically find me outside or browsing the aisles of Trader Joe's.
